Plaza de Armas de Lima, also known as Plaza Mayor, is at the centre of the city’s historic district and a main attraction of Peru. The plaza is flanked by churches and government buildings including the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, the Archbishop’s Palace of Lima, the Municipal Palace, and the Palace of the Union. It is a great place to wander on foot while enjoying the city’s rich colonial history.
